On PS VR platform, the most downloaded game in September was Beat Saber, a rhythm game in which players use virtual sabers to slice blocks that represent musical beats. Mixed martial arts fighting game EA Sports UFC 4 was ninth on the list, while survival horror title The Forest took the last spot of the top 10. In addition to being placed on the PS5 chart, Cyberpunk 2077 also occupied seventh place on PS4, while Dead Island: Definitive Edition, a remaster of the 2011 action role-playing game set in the midst of a zombie outbreak on a tropical island, was eighth.

The sixth most downloaded title on PS4 last month was Red Dead Redemption 2, an open world action-adventure set in a fictionalised version of America in 1899 and described as “an epic tale of honour and loyalty at the dawn of the modern age”. Grand Theft Auto V’s enduring popularity on the PS4 saw it take fourth spot on the list, followed by open world sandbox game Minecraft in fifth.
